Santiago on Tap
A one-day craft beer crawl in Santiago de los Caballeros
If you’ve been following my travels in the Dominican Republic, you know Santiago is slowly becoming a third home for me. Beyond the cafés, parks, and slower pace of life, the city also has a growing craft beer scene that’s perfect for a laid-back day out.
So I put together Santiago on Tap: Anna’s Beer Edit. A one-day craft beer crawl designed for locals, travelers, and anyone who loves discovering a city through its food and drink.
This isn’t about rushing from bar to bar. It’s about sipping, exploring, and enjoying Santiago at a relaxed pace.
The Santiago Beer Crawl Itinerary
12:00 PM — Cibao Brewing Co.
We kick things off at one of Santiago’s best-known breweries. Start with a beer flight and get a feel for the local craft scene.
2:00 PM — Alba Brewing
A cozy brewpub stop with house-brewed beers and the perfect excuse for a snack or light lunch.
4:00 PM — Pinta Beer Store
This is where you can try a wider range of beers, including rotating local selections and interesting imports.
5:30 PM — Gallo Pelón Brew Pub
A Santiago favorite. Settle in with a flight or pint and enjoy the early evening energy.
7:00 PM — O Beer Pub
End the crawl with dinner, night-time vibes, and one final beer to close out the day.
Tips for Enjoying the Crawl
Order beer flights so you can sample more styles without overdoing it
Eat along the way and stay hydrated
Use taxis or ride apps between stops
This crawl is flexible — feel free to skip or swap stops based on your vibe
I filmed parts of my time in Santiago, including this beer crawl, and you can watch it all in my Santiago vlog here:
